CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: The Palestinian and Israeli Leaders Program 2013: Women Leaders

The Palestinian and Israeli Leaders Program 2013: Women Leaders

michal-ekramThe Palestinian-Israeli Leaders Program is a shared initiative for next generation women leaders from all sectors of society including civil society, politics, business and religion that includes leadership development, adventure, challenge and exploration. The 2013 program will bring together 12 carefully selected women from all sectors of Israeli and Palestinian society for a transformative program of leadership training and relationship building.

 The Program

Participants will engage in a ten-day wilderness expedition followed one month later by a group retreat where relationships are reinforced and leadership skills honed.  Participants have the opportunity to attend regional capacity building workshops and to receive one-to-one leadership coaching in the months following the group retreat. The final activity, group integration, brings the women leaders together with the existing network of civil society, political, business and religious leaders. For the group integration, alumni from all five sectors are invited to participate in a five-day program to discover and solidify the significant resources of the network and plan for ongoing activities. A joint effort of Search for Common Ground (SFCG) and the Outward Bound Center for Peacebuilding (OB Peacebuilding), the program empowers leaders aged 30-40, from different sectors and backgrounds, to realize their own potential, advance their skills, further their networks and launch initiatives that improve their professions and their societies.

Coming here was a challenge for me, to leave everything back home and just be here, with the physical challenges, to be a leader with other leaders, to communicate, to share, to trust, to listen, and all of these things have been amazing. Because I’ve learned how to communicate, and I’ve learned to listen, I’ve learned to trust, I’ve learned to   share, and I took a great lesson from each and every single person here.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               –Alum of program
